    This latest generation serum is a highly effective concentrate of biomimetic active ingredients with antioxidant effects. Its formula combines ascorbyl glucoside, a 100% natural stabilized form of vitamin C, and astaxanthin, nature's most powerful antioxidant. These active ingredients can affect the oxidative mechanisms responsible for premature skin aging – through antioxidant effects, inhibition of melanin production, and collagen synthesis.

    Naturally derived Ascorbyl Glucoside is significantly more stable than pure vitamin C. When applied to the skin, it becomes active and is released slowly and gradually. Studies show that 1.8% ascorbyl glucoside is as effective as 15% vitamin C in reducing UV-induced oxidative stress.

    Ascorbyl glucoside works through a controlled release mechanism. When it enters the skin, enzymes naturally present in the skin – α-glucosides – separate the glucose group from the vitamin C molecule. This reaction releases active L-ascorbic acid into skin cells. Gradual enzymatic breakdown ensures a continuous supply of vitamin C, which helps maintain its effectiveness and reduces the likelihood of skin irritation.

    Astaxanthin - a carotenoid, synthesized by green microalgae, protects the skin from UV damage, preventing collagen degradation and inhibiting inflammation. Together with vitamin C, it enhances the overall antioxidant effect, providing additional protection against free radicals and improving the skin's resistance to environmental aggressors by combating oxidative stress. It is 6,000 times stronger as an antioxidant than vitamin C alone.

    Vitamin C Serum No. 5 is not phototoxic and does not cause photosensitization. Researchers at the University of Tokyo found that adding 1% ascorbyl glucoside to sunscreen reduced UV-induced free radical damage by approximately 47% compared to cream alone. This additional protective effect occurs because the cream filters ultraviolet radiation, while ascorbyl glucoside neutralizes the remaining skin ROS (reactive oxygen species), thus providing additional protection against photoaging.
